I meet Kendall & Andrew at Maymont Park in Richmond, Virginia over the weekend to celebrate and capture their engagement season. It was a little on the warm side but we were so thankful for shade, overcast, & a breeze. We had SO much fun and I laughed SO much, what a fun couple!

Normally when Maymont is suggested for photos, I quickly send suggestions of other locations and explain that I love Maymont Park, it’s beautiful. However, it is usually very crowded and frequently used for sessions and I prefer something a bit more unique or meaningful for my couples. We explored other options and the day of we decided to visit Maymont after all.

I’m not even mad about it!

You guys, how have I visited the park more than a dozen times and NOT been to this side of the park?!? It was like a breath of fresh air and I felt alive in Maymont like the first time I ever visited. I loved the new to me locations and scenery so much and couldn’t stop telling Kendall & Andrew that during their session HAHA.

The two of them met during a karaoke evening and, quite literally, bumped into one another. The two chatted and never looked back. I love that Kendall shared how natural and comfortable it was with Andrew. They didn’t look back.

Andrew proposed while vacationing in ICELAND you guys! How romantic! Kendall was so surprised and said it was unexpected – which I think is the best. They are planning a beautiful wedding at Oakdale in Ashland Virginia and decided on the Venue after attending 6 of their friends weddings and realizing they wanted something different.

They fell in love with the openness and lighting at Oakdale which, I agree, make it beautiful in itself. I love when I get to visit the property and always get the best photos of my people.

I can’t wait for Kendall & Andrew’s wedding but for now, enjoy this season’s captures.
