Hannah & Andrew's Lakeside at Welch Estate Powhatan, VA

September 14, 2019 Hannah & Andrew with their friends and family before God made an amazing commitment to one another and began their first day as Husband and Wife and began their new chapter. The day was beautifully overcast with warm rays peeking through to give us a golden glow most of the day. Their wedding venue, Lakeside at Welch Estate located in Powhatan VA was a breath of fresh air and had stunning views every angle you looked. Nicole with It’s So Fancy Events and her team were magnificent to work with. They made sure every detail was taken care of for Hannah and Andrew along with their families and guests and were truly so welcoming to all. Every detail was beautifully thought out and designed.

Hannah & Andrew have been so amazing through their planning journey with me, even if they did try to kill me with a five thousand mile hike for their engagement session (Ok Ok I may be exaggerating a bit). I loved that the two of them trusted me and let me have complete control over their portraits. They. Are. Flawless! Just a small tip when you hire your wedding photographer: Make sure you trust them and let them take the lead with your portraits. Remember they are experienced and educated professionals that by getting to know you will know exactly how to curate your day perfectly. When you have open expectations the results are truly amazing as you can see below. It’s ok to have a Pinterest board with inspiration but it’s another thing to limit your photos to screen shots of other couples moments and also limit your talented photographer. I must have told Hannah and Andrew a thousand times thank you and how incredible they looked. I can’t count how many “happy dances” and giddy squeals I let out. I love my people you guys so you better believe that I cry at their weddings and I celebrate with them!

There wasn’t a single person that didn’t enjoy themselves at the reception (I have many photos as proof) and Wayne Smith with Black Tie Entertainment was lovely to work with. He kept the night going and the people dancing (YES of course Audrey and I joined in). Hannah and Andrew had some fun and were happy to go with any request or idea I had for more portraits. I love when my couples incorporate evening/night shots. Every single image for each couple is so special and unique. This started with me years ago as an “accident” that I quickly thought was awesome and with some tweaking has become kind of a signature shot for me. I’m excited to add Hannah & Andrew’s night shot to the list of epic night shots (Shannon and Erik’s Filed and Barn shot & Jenna and Doug’s barn shot are the most recent you may recall). We ended the night with cake and sparklers and sent Hannah and Andrew off into their forever. It really was the best day ever!
