Maggie and Neal’s engagement session at James Monroe Highland was one of my favorites. They were both super fun and we laughed the entire time. They also brought their dog, Griffey, with them and he was such a great addition to our day.

The Location: James Monroe Highland

Engagement sessions at James Monroe Highland end up with some absolutely stunning photos. The property is absolutely stunning and has amazing views. In fact, the mountain view we had for Maggie and Neal’s session was breathtaking.

For those who are looking for a venue for their engagement session, I cannot recommend it more! Take a look at the gallery for some inspiration!

Side note: Photographers have an eye that is a bit different than the average person. While we love a beautiful backdrop, it’s not our go to; we search for amazing light! Doesn’t matter where it is or what’s there, if the light is on point so is our focus (see what I did there!? Haha) 📸 There’s a photo in the gallery that was shot in the PARKING LOT at James Monroe Highland with cars and people all around. See if you can figure it which one!

The Session:

The day of Maggie and Neal’s engagement session was perfect. The James Monroe Highland grounds still had some gorgeous blooms that added that perfect touch- especially for the ring shot you know I had to get!

Although the tree lined drive was bare, we captured that breathtaking mountain shot through the branches and it was a beautiful backdrop.

Maggie and Neal, I had a fabulous time with the two of you and cannot wait to capture your wedding day!
