Engagement Session at Swannanoa on Afton Mountain

Melinda and Joe’s engagement session at Swannanoa on Afton Mountain was absolutely perfect.

Melinda and Joe were referred to me by one of my previous couples Bri and Thornton. Can I just take a moment and say that that’s one of the best feelings ever, when a past couple refers their friends and family to me! Cue all the happy and grateful tears.

Now, back to my couple’s session!

Engagement Session Location: Swannanoa on Afton Mountain

As you all know, this location is an absolute FAVORITE of mine. It’s the perfect spot for those dreamy engagement photos. From the cobblestone, to the castle, and the deer roaming about, it’s as if you have been transported to another land.

Melinda was so sweet. When we pulled up to Swannanoa, she jumped out of the car and gave me a big hug. Her excitement was contagious and as hers grew, mine did too.

Joe cracked up with jokes.

There was just an instant ease between us.

Joe mentioned, “we love weird and unusual things” and those are the magic words. They were so adventurous and were completely open to doing off the wall things, which resulted in some stunning photos.

Melinda and Joe have their own signature thing- the dirty dancing lift. So of course, I absolutely had to get a couple photos of that! Let them know how they did in the comments!

Melinda and Joe are also all about their dog Petey, who they brought with them. Petey is absolutely adorable and he gives high fives!

Before we left, there was a stunning cotton candy pink sunset that covered the sky as we snapped our final fun shots of the day.
